Surah Baqarah Verse 240 (2:240)

And those of you who die and leave behind wives should bequeath for their wives a year’s maintenance and residence without turning them out, but if they (wives) leave, there is no sin on you for that which they do of themselves, provided it is honourable (e.g. lawful marriage). And Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise<sup foot_note=254681>1</sup>.

جو لوگ تم میں سے فوت ہوجائیں اور بیویاں چھوڑ جائیں وه وصیت کر جائیں کہ ان کی بیویاں سال بھر تک فائده اٹھائیں<sup foot_note=294730>1</sup> انہیں کوئی نہ نکالے، ہاں اگر وه خود نکل جائیں تو تم پر اس میں کوئی گناه نہیں جو وه اپنے لئے اچھائی سے کریں، اللہ تعالیٰ غالب اور حکیم ہے۔
