Surah Baqarah Verse 283 (2:283)

And if you are on a journey and cannot find a scribe, then let there be a pledge taken (mortgaging)<sup foot_note=254714>1</sup>; then if one of you entrust the other, let the one who is entrusted discharge his trust (faithfully), and let him be afraid of Allâh, his Lord. And conceal not the evidence for he, who hides it, surely his heart is sinful. And Allâh is All-Knower of what you do.

اور اگر تم سفر میں ہو اور لکھنے واﻻ نہ پاؤ تو رہن قبضہ میں رکھ لیا کرو<sup foot_note=294855>1</sup> ، ہاں اگر آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے مطمئن ہو تو جسے امانت دی گئی ہے وه اسے ادا کردے اور اللہ تعالیٰ سے ڈرتا رہے جو اس کا رب ہے<sup foot_note=294857>2</sup>۔ اور گواہی کو نہ چھپاؤ اور جو اسے چھپالے وه گنہگار دل واﻻ ہے<sup foot_note=294859>3</sup> اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اسے اللہ تعالیٰ خوب جانتا ہے۔
